About Mi Via Waiver Services in New Mexico

Mi Via Waiver Services in New Mexico is a Medicaid program that supports people with developmental disabilities by helping them live independently within their communities. Created in 1999, Mi Via emerged from the need for more flexible, personalized assistance for individuals and families. The program gives participants control over their services and budgets, promoting greater autonomy. Through self-direction, the program allows you to manage your services, choose the providers who best fit your needs, and design the life you want to live. Through options such as personal care, respite, and community-based support, Mi Via tailors assistance to each person’s unique needs. This person-centered model reflects New Mexico’s broader commitment to independence and self-determination for individuals with disabilities.
